earn extra cash today!

Hey guys, as promised, I will talk about simple homebased business for everyone. So today, I’ll share to you one of my fave ways to earn that extra moolah!
Three weeks ago, I decided to join this site called, oDesk. What oDesk does is that it allows job seekers and employers to meet. So basically, it’s a third party company. I signed up as a provider and I immediately took the oDesk Readiness exam. This exam is about how ready you are in using oDesk tools. They have downloadable tools which allows the employer to track a provider’s output. In short, they have tools to track your productivity. Aside from the oDesk readiness exam, you may also take other tests to measure your proficiency say for example, in English or in using Microsoft office etc. Then I completed my profile and I started applying for jobs. There are a lot of jobs to choose from. From blogging/ghostwriting to web designing, reviewing games, music, shows, etc. to networking. They also have a place for virtual assistants and voice talents.
What’s great about this site is that you can earn in two ways: by completing a fixed rate job or by doing hourly jobs. I like the latter better because I can put there the amount that I think is fair for my services. Aside from that, you can be sure that you will be paid for your work because they have their own dispute system (please read the terms). They allow the providers to withdraw their earnings in different ways (wire transfer, PayPal, Moneybookers). They even offer an oDesk MasterCard debit. Mine was approved recently after I had problems with PayPal. So when do you get paid? Your payment depends on how much you have earned per work week. For example, I worked during the week of June 8th-14th and my earnings for that week was credited on June 25th. I honestly didn’t like it at first. The fact that I had to wait 10 days before I can actually withdraw my earnings but I later realized that it’s actually good because it gives the employer (or what they call buyer) and oDesk ample time to resolve any disputes. Besides, better earn something than nothing, right?
So why am I sharing this to you? I am sharing this because that’s the point of this blog. I want to share stuff that would benefit other people and of course I want you to earn from doing the things that you love to do! These kinds of things hardly come by. So if you want to earn extra by doing the things you love, then you should try this out. So what are you waiting for? Sign up today!

Hi Orie, wow I didn’t expect someone from oDesk to see this! Anyway, I’ve tried it and I am very satisfied with oDesk.
Thank you for helping us find countless opportunities! It’s an awesome site and I have shared this to friends as well.
Ria, thanks and bless you, too!
I hope you find this info helpful.

I have yet to apply to a job, but I took the readiness test and some of the English ones. I was surprised that I was on the top 20% with the latter, and the top 10% on the former! Then I opened my account and I got an invite for an interview. I feel so excited, a bit apprehensive but very, very hopeful

Sounds nice! I’ve been on a few freelance design sites before, but this does sound different– how the employers can track your progress! In a way it’s worse than an office because the manager can’t check your work whenever they want! But thanks for sharing! I’ll sign up and take the test too.

Pahabol: Vikki, you got the oDesk Mastercard debit? Can you let us know how it goes? I’m having trouble with my PayPal as well as my Unionbank EON and if I can’t get that fixed ASAP, I need another option for payment. Thanks!

Hey girls!
Thanks for responding to this post! I’m happy that you think this option is a good idea. Anyhoo, I applied for an oDesk MasterCard via oDesk. Just go to my oDesk and then on the upper right hand of the screen, click on Billing & Payments. On the left navigation panel, you should see payment methods. The very first option is the oDesk MasterCard debit. Just follow the instructions and sign up! Easy eh? Just wait for an email. I got mine after about 24 hours. So this shouldn’t be so difficult. You gotta wait for the actual card tho before you can activate it. Good luck!
